ACT Awards for Students and Teachers

Would you like ACT to honour one of your students or teachers with an award? Nominating is quick and easy, and ACT Awards give recognition to students and teachers for their hard work. They also look great on resumes!

Rescue Award

Presented to students and teachers who have used any of the skills learned in the CPR program. For example:
  • Recognizing signs of a heart attack or stroke.
  • Calling 9-1-1.
  • Administering CPR.
  • Performing the obstructed airway manoeuvre.
  • Using a defibrillator.
  • Helping at the scene of an emergency.
Regardless of the outcome, we still like to honour students and teachers for reacting in an emergency.

Leadership ACTion Award

Presented to students who demonstrate leadership in the CPR program. For example:
  • Helping to teach CPR in the classroom.
  • Participating on a school emergency response team.
  • Teaching CPR to family and friends.
  • Promoting the importance of CPR and defibrillator training.

Hands of ACTion Award

Presented to students who provide general classroom help to teachers. For example:
  • Cleaning mannequins.
  • Helping with classroom set up/take down.

NOMINATING IS EASY!

Just send an email to act@actfoundation.ca with the subject line "Award Nomination" and provide the following information for each student or teacher:

  • Award category
  • Student or teacher name
  • School and school board
  • City / town / province
  • Details describing why student or teacher deserves award
  • The best way for ACT to contact you and the award recipient
  • Size of T-shirt for award recipient

Winners Receive:

Winners will receive an ACT Award certificate, a "Saving People, Touching Lives" T-shirt and may be featured on the ACT Web site. ACT can also assist the school in recognizing the student in the school's newsletter, on the school's Web site, and/or at a school event (e.g. assembly).
